Employees as Brand Ambassadors during Crisis

As parts of Louisiana and Texas are recovering from Tropical Storm Imelda, we thought we would share this discussion we posted just after Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Employers have an opportunity to turn their employees into lifelong Brand Ambassadors during times of crisis by remembering 3 key things: be Present, be Personal and be Persistent.

Most employers do want the best for their employees, but without a purposeful consciousness, these feelings can get lost in the moment. Crisis leaves lasting impressions and when Leaders demonstrate their human-ness, their empathies and sympathies, employees will remember these behaviors long after the company holiday party memories have faded. They will talk and tell stories about the actions of the company and its management to their friends, relatives and colleagues.
